The Price of Beauty

The Price of Beauty is the name of a TV show by Jessica Simpson. I don’t really like her but this show is (believe it or not) interesting. She travels to different places and sort of interviewing people (mostly women) to understand what beauty means in that culture. She also investigates the methods being used in the beauty spas, fashion, and anything that has to do with the idea of beauty. I have watched couple of episode that I think I will watch the rest.

Things that really matter

I remember once when I was in school, couple of friends suggested skipping the class and going to see a movie. Of course the nerd in me couldn't handle the stress of missing a lecture. So I announced that I wouldn't go with them but I would gladly go to class and share my notes with whoever likes to have them later. I don't recall the content of that lecture nor do I recall the course but I never forget that I didn't watch 'the Banu Ordibehesht' with my friends.

I was very excited about listing to her. When I bought the ticket, I told to myself that was an early birthday present for me. I went for the talk to be inspired and to figure out why this woman was so successful as she was. Although I never regret going to that talk (since I learned one or two things), the talk was not as inspiring as I hoped. I had heard better talks before. She is not one of those people that I call gifted public speakers. She was witty and smart but didn’t really do it for me. However, what I learned was that I can be a rainbow in someone’s cloud.
