Spring cleaning

It is customary to do a deep cleaning of your home right before Norooz, Iranian new year. People wash their walls, windows, rugs, and basically everything. This is not really a tradition for my mom. She is very clean and organize. She never allows for the dust to stay. So basically her home is always spotless. I wish I could say the same thing for my own home.  Anyway, since I don't really have time to clean my house, I can at least dust this blog. It always  makes me happy to visit this place and read my own posts as well as the visitors comments. One of my goals for this year is not allow this blog to gather dust again.

Last post for this year

- Happy New Year to those who celebrate this day and happy the first day of spring to those who don’t. Anyhow, it is a good occasion to celebrate. - Iranian student at UBC set up a table with Haft-seen at the main library on campus. It was nice to see how they advocate for Nowruz . - Last year was a tough year for me and my family. I hope this year be better, healthier, happier, and brighter for everyone. Happy Nowruz

New year, new begining

This is the first Norooz that I'm celebrating without my family. (Maybe the honest version is the first Norooz that I didn't want to celebrate). These past few years, I was the one who went to buy the goldfishes for haftseen and delivered them to my mom. This year, for my first haftseen I didn't have a goldfish. I didn't even want to have a haftseen . Thanks to my new friend and her cousin who came to my place for tahveel , we celebrate the New Year together and away from our own families. I enjoyed their companies. We talked, laughed, and did whatever girl friends do when they get together. I'm amazed because I'm not even sad or homesick nor I have shut the emotions off. I've accepted it. It was my own choice to go away to study. At least this is what I think right now or I'm just too occupied with other things in my mind. There are so many mixed fellings here. I know I don't make any sense. But one thing is for certain and that is tahveel turned...

Happy New Year! Hope it'll be better than 2007 for my family, relatives, my friends, and myself. These are some interesting e-cards which I found in the Facebook.
