Fashion vs. Style

I can't care less about fashion. I think it is sad to be told what to wear and this is exactly what fashion does. You hear people say they never wear this or that because it is so out of fashion .... I won't claim I have a particular style myself but I admire those who have. This is a blog that I have found recenlty and I beleive it does an intersting job presenting people with different styles.

Things that really matter

I remember once when I was in school, couple of friends suggested skipping the class and going to see a movie. Of course the nerd in me couldn't handle the stress of missing a lecture. So I announced that I wouldn't go with them but I would gladly go to class and share my notes with whoever likes to have them later. I don't recall the content of that lecture nor do I recall the course but I never forget that I didn't watch 'the Banu Ordibehesht' with my friends.

I was very excited about listing to her. When I bought the ticket, I told to myself that was an early birthday present for me. I went for the talk to be inspired and to figure out why this woman was so successful as she was. Although I never regret going to that talk (since I learned one or two things), the talk was not as inspiring as I hoped. I had heard better talks before.
