Asking for a sign

I never asked for a sign before because first I don’t really believe in one and second if there is one I won’t be able to recognize it. Here it comes that moment that I was avoiding. I might need to face a situation that requires me to make an important decision. This time I asked for a sign ahead of time because I was in a disparate need for a direction. But I never saw one. I'm just gonna go with my gut feeling. That’s what I am gonna do and pray that it's the right one.

Following your own gut feeling is not always bad. In fact, in many cases it may be even better than a deliberate decision. There is a book called "Gut Feelings: The Intelligence of the Unconscious". I recommend it if you have not read it before. Basically, it seems that when we don't have a lot of information about a subject at hand, following our gut feeling is usually the best bet.

I remember once when I was in school, couple of friends suggested skipping the class and going to see a movie. Of course the nerd in me couldn't handle the stress of missing a lecture. So I announced that I wouldn't go with them but I would gladly go to class and share my notes with whoever likes to have them later. I don't recall the content of that lecture nor do I recall the course but I never forget that I didn't watch 'the Banu Ordibehesht' with my friends.

I was very excited about listing to her. When I bought the ticket, I told to myself that was an early birthday present for me. I went for the talk to be inspired and to figure out why this woman was so successful as she was. Although I never regret going to that talk (since I learned one or two things), the talk was not as inspiring as I hoped. I had heard better talks before.
