Last week

It was a tough week but it's almost over and I'm looking forward to this long weekend. I had four assignments and one application due for this week. I can't remember the last time I was working this hard. I was basically multi-tasking to get everything done.

I didn't start working on them before last Saturday of course. I knew it was my own fault to procrastinate so much that I lost control. It's fairly the beginning of term and I just want to make sure that I do my best. The fact that I don't knew the profs well enough made the assignments harder in the sense that I wasn't sure if I was doing everything right. So I tried to be a perfectionist. I'm happy with the results and proud of myself. I haven't only finished everything on-time but 24 in advance. I was right on schedule. As for the quality of the assignments go, I think I did a fine job. I can be more sure when I see my marks but hoping that everything is going to be fine.

I'll manage my time better this time. Specially with all the short trips ahead of me for the next two weekends. I am excited.

That sounds fabulous Daisy Jan! Looks like you are getting a hang of things, and for a first semester, that's really impressive! I hope your trips are filled with fun, relaxation, and joy of having your family near you. Regroup and return to the discipline you have obviously achieved through hard work. I am proud of you.

Things that really matter

I remember once when I was in school, couple of friends suggested skipping the class and going to see a movie. Of course the nerd in me couldn't handle the stress of missing a lecture. So I announced that I wouldn't go with them but I would gladly go to class and share my notes with whoever likes to have them later. I don't recall the content of that lecture nor do I recall the course but I never forget that I didn't watch 'the Banu Ordibehesht' with my friends.

I was very excited about listing to her. When I bought the ticket, I told to myself that was an early birthday present for me. I went for the talk to be inspired and to figure out why this woman was so successful as she was. Although I never regret going to that talk (since I learned one or two things), the talk was not as inspiring as I hoped. I had heard better talks before. She is not one of those people that I call gifted public speakers. She was witty and smart but didn’t really do it for me. However, what I learned was that I can be a rainbow in someone’s cloud. Happy Nowruz 1390!!!

Happy Persian New Year, Sal-e noe mobarak! I set my 7-seen table finally this morning. I want everyone to notice my happy mug which contains some wheat cat grass. The one I try to make from lentil, didn't turn out very well since I remembered to start doing it 10 days ago. The weather today was surprisingly amazing. I received some chocolate as eidi (which was a nice surprise too and from someone whom I was trying to be mad at), played squashed with some friends, then went swimming. As I was swimming in the quiet pool, I started thinking that I should be very grateful for this nice facility on campus and should take more advantage of it. I was happy but by the end of the day, I couldn't help it wonder about some stuff in my life. More thinking and analyzing does not help either; Some cry does though. At least I feel better now.
