Creative approach in food writing

I just finished reading a very interesting article on Turkish cuisine. It was called “Sufi Gourmet”. I should say it was more about Mowlana (Mevlana) though. I really enjoyed it because as the author of the article, Marcello Di Cintio, says "food-writing has to be about culture". I learned new things about Mowlana today as well as tasty Turkish food. I recommend reading this article. Be aware of the content of this article if you fast these days. You might want to put it off until after eftar (sunset).

It's so amazing that the cuisine is so diverse in the middle East. I don't remember to have Turkish food ever. That makes me wonder why since I love to try new things. I've eaten in Turkish provinces in Iran. The food was so good that I can still remember the taste. but I'm sure there must be a lot of differences between the two types of cuisine.

It was an excellent article. He also has a book called Poets and Pahlevans: a Journey into the Heart of Iran, which is about his trip to Iran. I'm thinking of reading it when I find more free time.

Emily Carr is a very famous artist. There is definitely something special about her paintings. Her style is very original and she usually uses very intense green colour in her paintings which I really like.

I remember once when I was in school, couple of friends suggested skipping the class and going to see a movie. Of course the nerd in me couldn't handle the stress of missing a lecture. So I announced that I wouldn't go with them but I would gladly go to class and share my notes with whoever likes to have them later. I went for the talk to be inspired and to figure out why this woman was so successful as she was. Although I never regret going to that talk (since I learned one or two things), the talk was not as inspiring as I hoped. I had heard better talks before. Happy Nowruz 1390!!!

Happy Persian New Year, Sal-e noe mobarak! I set my 7-seen table finally this morning. I want everyone to notice my happy mug which contains some wheat cat grass. The one I try to make from lentil, didn't turn out very well since I remembered to start doing it 10 days ago. The weather today was surprisingly amazing. I received some chocolate as eidi (which was a nice surprise too and from someone whom I was trying to be mad at), played squashed with some friends, then went swimming. As I was swimming in the quiet pool, I started thinking that I should be very grateful for this nice facility on campus and should take more advantage of it. I was happy but by the end of the day, I couldn't help it wonder about some stuff in my life. More thinking and analyzing does not help either; Some cry does though. At least I feel better now.
