Whoever knows me a little, knows that I love having a cup of coffee in the morning. Some considers it as my addiction to caffeine, but I think of it as something that helps to look forward to starting a new day. As long as I keep it to one cup a day, I should not be concerned about it. According to an article on Forbes, the Priciest Cup of Coffee in the World can be found in Moscow. I don't understand why the price of coffee should be so expensive in some places comparing the cost of living. While the average cup of coffee in Moscow is $10.19, including service, the same coffee costs $5.04 in Tokyo. The average monthly rent on a two-bedroom luxury apartment in Moscow costs $4,500. While in Tokyo, where space is at a premium, the apartment rent averages out to $5,128.84.

I'm not sure that I would still enjoy my coffee, if I was living in Moscow.

Yup!
Not only a cup of coffee, but also every little thing in Moscow costs a lot! Last night there was a report on Tv which emphasized again that Moscow is the most expensive city around the world...
However, the enjoy of coffee doubles in such a freezing weather!

I know what you mean about that morning cup of coffee's way of starting the day for you. I feel the same way. As I explained to Shobeir one time, I pass by Kay's Coffee Shop on my way to work. My Algerian friend, Amar, works behind the counter. As I pass the window, I stop for 2 seconds until he looks up. When he sees me, I give him a signal, lifting two fingers (or five), indicating when I'll be back to pick up my coffee! I go to my office, drop my bag, turn on the lights, turn on my computer and return. He has my medium-double-capuccino-half-dry and 2 madeleine cakes ready for me when I come back! That's how I start every single work day. On weekends, I go to Starbuck's near my house to get the same, because it just won't be a day when I can't have my favorite breakfast!

Moscow is expensive and shopping there is awful! No Russian clothes! It's like walking into a poorly-stocked American shop when you go shopping there, with all the American and European shops, like GAP, Benetton, etc. You should only go to Moscow to visit their many fantastic monuments and museums and to go to their authentic restaurants to listen to their music and to watch their dancers, that's it!

Hey Shobeir,

As much as I love coffee, I can't drink one after 4pm. otherwise I'll have trouble sleeping. But that doesn't mean that I don't drink a cup of coffee late once in a while. I sacrifice my sleep:)
You should be happy to know that I don't drink Vodka. This means that it will be more for you to drink ;)

Hey Parinaz,
I guess you experience the high cost of living in Moscow recently.

Some places in Canada can get as cold as Moscow. So I know how winter is like there and how much a cup of coffee can help.

I'm glad you have the same habit as I do. Those Starbuck's coffees are sooo good and sooo addictive. When someone asks what they should get me for Christmas, my birthday, or any other occasions, I always answer a gift card from Starbuck (with a smile of course).
It's funny that I've never found the need to drink tea which is more common in Iran. There is something special about coffee. take care

I remember once when I was in school, couple of friends suggested skipping the class and going to see a movie. Of course the nerd in me couldn't handle the stress of missing a lecture. So I announced that I wouldn't go with them but I would gladly go to class and share my notes with whoever likes to have them later. Although I never regret going to that talk (since I learned one or two things), the talk was not as inspiring as I hoped. I had heard better talks before. Happy Nowruz 1390!!!

Happy Persian New Year, Sal-e noe mobarak! I set my 7-seen table finally this morning. I want everyone to notice my happy mug which contains some wheat cat grass. The one I try to make from lentil, didn't turn out very well since I remembered to start doing it 10 days ago. The weather today was surprisingly amazing. I received some chocolate as eidi (which was a nice surprise too and from someone whom I was trying to be mad at), played squashed with some friends, then went swimming. As I was swimming in the quiet pool, I started thinking that I should be very grateful for this nice facility on campus and should take more advantage of it. I was happy but by the end of the day, I couldn't help it wonder about some stuff in my life. More thinking and analyzing does not help either; Some cry does though. At least I feel better now.
