"If my coming were up to me, I’d never be born
And if my going were on my accord, I’d go with scorn
Isn’t it better that in this world, so old and worn
Never to be born, neither stay, nor be away torn?"

"The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it."

By Omar Khayyam

I am at work. It is very quiet. Many people are already gone and there are not that many students around. I am pretty sure that those who are, don’t want to be here at this time of the year.

I am listening to radio Javan, chewing on my candy cane (I don't like candy cane), and trying not to think about the argument I had with my mom yesterday over the phone. What an awful day was yesterday. So many disappointments. The longer I live, the more I learn that there is nothing to the end of this life.

there is nothing to the end of this life??
i don,t think so
همه چي درست ميشه ماها فقط بي خود با فكر وخيال خودمون رو از بين مي بريم .البته منظورم از ما بيشتر خودم مي باشم

Go pack instead of stupid thoughts :) I have an amazing little boy and i still think what you said here sometimes. It is just the matter of timing and what is happening in our lives at those times. And it depends very much on your surrounding as well. Asking me you should move, you need changes.

You are absolutely right, there is no end, either happy or sad, it is just "not being" anymore ...
However, this is not necessarily a depressing observation, because the whole thing is about our daily lives and struggles and small joys and sorrows ... there is a famous saying in addiction recovery circles: live for today (or one day at a time) and take small steps!

I am glad to hear that this is not a depressing observation or the sign of depression! I have been readying Khayyam recently and I can’t help agreeing with him. He talks about it in almost all his poems. And more and more I analyze my life, the less I understand it. I guess having strong religious believes at least protects you from these types of thoughts.

You are right Lotus; I think in order to keep my sanity, I need to take it one day at a time.
