Miscellaneous

When Leo got shot in the Departed , I felt as if I was shot in the heart! It seems I can't get myself to write here anymore. I don't understand why.  Two more days and my herbal D-tox 12 days diet will be over. I have started craving bread and other things. One Saturday, my friend and I went to one of those natural products store because I needed to buy some Vitamin D supplement. We came back with no vitamin D but with two detox cleanser kits. I am always ready for this type of challenges and I have already done cleansing program twice. But I am sure my friend thinks to herself what the hell she got herself into! Only two days left; hang in there.  Seize the moment and spend time with those that you know you will miss.

We shall touch the Happy Isles!

Short version of Ulysses from Frasier. "It may be that the gulfs will wash us down; It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles, And though we are not now that strength which in old days Moved earth and heaven, that which we are... Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will; To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield."

Happy Chinese New Year!

You Gotta be there in 2010!

What you see in this video is not an exaggeration. BC is really that beautiful. The Winter Olympics are set to open in Vancouver this Friday, while Vancouver is experiencing one of the warmest winter ever. Thank to November snow, they were able to store some of that snow and used it now for games held at Whistler. I heard so much about this event  while I was there. Olympics always represented as something positive but I am not sure if I would think of it that way anymore. There are so many controversies around this event. Apparently, there was a budget allocated to providing shelters for homeless population but last year they have announced that they don’t have enough money to fulfill this promise. Homelessness and related issues are not new to Vancouver and I don’t know what have happened since. I have heard other things too but I don’t have any reliable references for them nor the time to go dig them up. Having said that I think it would have been cool to experience living in V

I am on cloud nine! The Evidence Summary that I wrote is finally accepted for publication. It will make the June issue. I am so happy; this is a very big deal for me. On top of this, I am invited to join the team of the authors for the journal too. I might not be the best writer out there since English is my second language but no one can accuse me of not being a critical thinker. I need to celebrate...

The Jane Austen Book Club!

If you are a fan of Jane Austen and looking for a good chick flick movie, The Jane Austen Book Club is for you. I loved this movie. I have to say it is one of the best movies I have seen recently. I am so inspired that I'm planning to read all Jane Austin’s books that I have not read yet and reread those that I have.
Sometimes it’s really hard to express your feelings by words. Not because there is no words to articulate those feelings by but because you don’t know those feelings exactly. I know it sounds strange but I am going through that mood for sometimes now. When I have free time to contemplate my life and reflect on my thoughts, there is that feeling of suspense. I don’t know where to go from here...
