The Sound of Music is one of my all time favourite classical/musical movie. It‘s cheerful and makes me smile every time I watch it or listen to one of the Julie Andrews songs. Who couldn’t fall in love with her voice, her peaceful manner, and magnificent view of the Alps, all featured in this movie. The translated version of this movie in Farsi, ashkeha va labkhandha, was very well done too. This video clip shows a wonderful dance of 200 something dancers in one of the main central stations in Belgium. They are dancing with the Do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti song.

The sound of Music, was once my most favorite movie and my mom says when I was a kid, I used to watch this movie almost every other day!!

As much as I like Julie Andrews, it’s amazing that Mary Poppins never find any place in my heart. I always found it to be boring. One possible reason can be that when I watched it for the first time, I was too old for that type of movie. I guess everything has its won time and it is pleasant at a certain age but memories stay for ever ;)

Things that really matter

I remember once when I was in school, couple of friends suggested skipping the class and going to see a movie. Of course the nerd in me couldn't handle the stress of missing a lecture. So I announced that I wouldn't go with them but I would gladly go to class and share my notes with whoever likes to have them later. I don't recall the content of that lecture nor do I recall the course but I never forget that I didn't watch 'the Banu Ordibehesht' with my friends.

I was very excited about listing to her. When I bought the ticket, I told to myself that was an early birthday present for me. I went for the talk to be inspired and to figure out why this woman was so successful as she was. Although I never regret going to that talk (since I learned one or two things), the talk was not as inspiring as I hoped. I had heard better talks before. She is not one of those people that I call gifted public speakers. She was witty and smart but didn’t really do it for me. However, what I learned was that I can be a rainbow in someone’s cloud. Happy Nowruz 1390!!!

Happy Persian New Year, Sal-e noe mobarak! I set my 7-seen table finally this morning. I want everyone to notice my happy mug which contains some wheat cat grass. The one I try to make from lentil, didn't turn out very well since I remembered to start doing it 10 days ago. The weather today was surprisingly amazing. I received some chocolate as eidi (which was a nice surprise too and from someone whom I was trying to be mad at), played squashed with some friends, then went swimming. As I was swimming in the quiet pool, I started thinking that I should be very grateful for this nice facility on campus and should take more advantage of it. I was happy but by the end of the day, I couldn't help it wonder about some stuff in my life. More thinking and analyzing does not help either; Some cry does though. At least I feel better now.
