My new project

So much for this weekend and so much for my plans to study. I haven't touched any school work that I was supposed to read. Now instead of reading I'm writing here.

Anyway, for one of my practical projects, I volunteered myself to classify and catalogue a number of Farsi books. This collection has been donated to one the universities here in Vancouver. I went to see the project manager last week. It's about 1 hour and half commute to get there. I don't know what I was thinking when I signed up for it. I believe when I heard they needed someone who knew Farsi, I was so happy that I didn't consider anything else. I didn't even consider the fact that I was not a huge fan of cataloguing. The only thing I knew was I missed touching Farsi books.

Anyway, it turned out that the collection is consisted of 800 books. I'm not sure if I have the time to finish them all. I went to the storage area to look at the books. I saw the complete volume of Loghat Naameh Dehkhoda, Divane Hafez, Shah nameh, Molasadra, and,,,. I made sure that they saw the spark in my eyes as I was holding the books and inspecting them. I made sure they knew that this was one of the best collections I have ever seen. I think they are grateful for receiving it although it means more work for them.

Things that really matter

I remember once when I was in school, couple of friends suggested skipping the class and going to see a movie. Of course the nerd in me couldn't handle the stress of missing a lecture. So I announced that I wouldn't go with them but I would gladly go to class and share my notes with whoever likes to have them later. I don't recall the content of that lecture nor do I recall the course but I never forget that I didn't watch 'the Banu Ordibehesht' with my friends.

I went for the talk to be inspired and to figure out why this woman was so successful as she was. Although I never regret going to that talk (since I learned one or two things), the talk was not as inspiring as I hoped. I had heard better talks before. Happy Nowruz 1390!!!

Happy Persian New Year, Sal-e noe mobarak! I set my 7-seen table finally this morning. I want everyone to notice my happy mug which contains some wheat cat grass. The one I try to make from lentil, didn't turn out very well since I remembered to start doing it 10 days ago. The weather today was surprisingly amazing. I received some chocolate as eidi (which was a nice surprise too and from someone whom I was trying to be mad at), played squashed with some friends, then went swimming. As I was swimming in the quiet pool, I started thinking that I should be very grateful for this nice facility on campus and should take more advantage of it. I was happy but by the end of the day, I couldn't help it wonder about some stuff in my life. More thinking and analyzing does not help either; Some cry does though. At least I feel better now.
